幸福

幸福

其实最平凡的一天就是最幸福的一天。

Just a random thought that sums up the silence of this space.

I’ve been busy mummy-ing, having my hands full with two rascals under two. One less tantrum a day is a battle won. It’s challenging, exhausting and yet the best job I’ve ever had. As I watch my little girl grow into a toddler with a mind of her own, I see the fruits of my labour. Those times when I read stories after stories to a little baby actually made a difference!

My little man is growing up fast. He’s almost three months old now. Our nickname for him is “chubby chubs”. He’s a real charmer with his laughter & smiley eyes.

We have settled into our new home, our first home. It’s so good to have our own home. :)

现在的我好幸福哦,你呢?

愿你的每一天都幸福、快乐。

One Month. Two Babies.

One Month. Two Babies.

Ewan is one month old! He’s growing chubbier & heavier, feeds & sleeps like a baby, & is much loved by his sister, mama & papa. We are so glad to have him as part of our family.

It’s been a busy one month, with a newborn, a toddler, & ongoing renovations. But we’ve been happily busy. Seeing our little boy grow day by day, & at the same time see our house transform into our much awaited home, it’s been an exciting month.

So we look ahead. To more settled days ahead. To joyous times with our babies in our own home.

Who's the ultraman?

Good morning sunshine!

Happy, as always!

Introducing Ewan 翼涵

Introducing Ewan 翼涵

The new man of our lives. His name is Ewan 翼涵 Yi(4) Han(2), he arrived 2 days before term (36+5 weeks) on 25th February 2012, at 2056hr via a super-natural birth yet again. This time round, it was so quick the obstetrician & nurses didn’t believe he was coming out! Mama had to tell them “baby is coming” a few times before they got ready in a jiffy. All in, from the time Mama needed to push to when Ewan came out screaming (yes, screaming), Papa counted 16 minutes. No painkillers, no screaming from Mama. The way childbirth was intended to be. Beautiful.

Ewan (pronounced eU-uhn, like Ewan McGregor!) means youth, and it also means God is gracious. As most of you should know by now, Papa & Mama think the Chinese name is very important & meaningful. So out came the thick dictionary once again, & for months we pondered & debated over various characters. Finally, we settled on 翼涵. 翼 literally means wings, & we hope this boy will soar on wings. 涵 is to signify our wish that he would grow up to be a man of character & wisdom.

Mama & baby Ewan are doing well. It’s been a harrowing journey for the past 5 weeks, being in & out of the hospitals & clinics. But all’s calmer now. And we are thankful for all the prayers & concerns.

Alot of people have also asked us how Xinlei is coping with a new baby brother. Exceptionally well, i must say. She showers him with kisses & hugs & demands to carry him. She also alerts us immediately when he cries so that attention is rendered. She’s such a sweet sister! Papa & Mama are blessed to have 2 beautiful & perfect babies.

And so we journey on… with our 2 little matchsticks.

Hello world!

A gift from Ewan! How nice of my baby brother. *wink*

New Beginnings

New Beginnings

We are entering the 2nd month of 2012 & this is my 1st post of the year! To some who’ve been wondering, yes, I’m back in  blogosphere, after much hints & procrastination. *pats self on back*

Much has happened since my last post. We celebrated New Year, got the keys to our new house (finally!), celebrated Chinese New Year with my family in Singapore, then had a series of unfortunate events related to matchstick with me ending up in hospital. I’ve since been prescribed bedrest, which is hardly possible at home with an active toddler, who seems to have become more manja. I’ve been exhausted the last 1 week in particular. But thank God all’s well with our little matchstick for now.

As proud first time home owners, we are embarking on a renovation journey soon! Hopefully all goes according to plan, & the contractors can start work soon. I’ll post up some photos when it’s completed.

As for our little matchstick, who’s now 34 weeks, with a weight of 2kg, we hope he will stay inside for as long as possible! Though this little dragon boy seems to be impatient & wanting out! We’ve finally decided on his name, my hospital bag is all ready by my bedside, & his little clothes have all been washed. Only thing is, we haven’t bought him a bed. Ok, soon. Soon.

Now for some recent photos of our lives.
